The east and west main water valves are turned off until Tuesday night because of the .70 inch rain on Sunday. They will be turned back on Tuesday night to resume normal operations. |

Acknowledged. Before resumption on Tuesday night, please open valves slowly, and allow mainline to fill before opening all the way. Air pockets can create water hammer in mainline if opened too quickly….particularly if the line has drained significantly, and even more particularly if there’s not a valve open downstream to help purge. I understand the idea of saving on a sprinkler tech to do this, but keep in mind a blown mainline would be a much higher price to pay. – Mark |
