Subject: 6033 Southern Hills Drive Potential Mosquito Issue
To: Riley Norlin , Joe Potkanowicz
Hi, see e-mail below, maybe cut back irrigation as stated, but let me know
what you do , this came from the Town of Windsor, I have to report back, Guy
Windsor Highlands Metro District
*Caution:* **External Email**
North of Southern Hills Drive, east of Bay Meadows, and south of Crooked
Stick in the Highland Meadows development is a detention area/park. For
whatever reason, there is standing water in the SE quadrant of the park. I
think the ground water level is higher than previous years. I would also
suggest that the watering of the park has not been adjusted to account for
this perpetually wet area.
In any event, I am concerned about mosquitos and West Nile Virus. One of
the suggestions on the Windsor WEB page is to drain standing water to
control mosquitos. It is not clear to me how that might be done in this
case, but I believe it should be addressed.
Would you please investigate the situation? Anything you may be able to do
will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Robert Nastan
