Hello Guy,
I have been keeping an eye out for watering of the open space. I have
utilized rain/water gauges, observation of water in the concrete drainage
as well as requesting input from neighbors. The consensus is that NO
watering of the open space via the large pulsating sprinklers is taking
place. Up to now it has not been needed but now that the temperatures are
rising and the rain has ceased watering should be taking place. We have
been quite fortunate for the rain and the open space has been looking
decent. It would be quite unfortunate if at this point it was allowed to
dry up. It’s not the prettiest of areas to start with and every drop of H2O
counts. In addition to the natural weeds/grasses there are trees and pines
that crave water. If the Metro district really intends to water this area
then Precision needs to get on the ball and fire up the sprinklers.
As a side note if it ever comes to a vote I am in favor of only mowing
once a year or possibly not at all. Those areas throughput Highland Meadows
that allow the weeds/grasses to grow appear much more natural and actually
enhance the beauty of the area.
