Here is an update regarding snow removal operations today.
Our area received approximately 1 to 2 inches of snowfall. Due to the very cold temperatures, currently around 3 degrees with a wind chill near minus 5 degrees, the snow is light and fluffy.
Our snow removal crews have been dispatched and are actively working. We are starting with our commercial properties and will transition to our HOA communities as the snowfall tapers off. Crews will continue to monitor conditions throughout the day to ensure safe and accessible areas.
Additionally, some properties were right on the cusp of requiring snow removal based on accumulation alone. Due to the extremely low temperatures, especially in north facing and shaded areas, there is a high likelihood that remaining snow would compact and turn to ice. With temperatures continuing to drop, including forecasted lows around 0 degrees on Sunday with wind chills near minus 11 degrees, conditions will remain unfavorable for natural melting. We are also expecting an additional 2 inches of snow tomorrow, beginning around mid day.
Utilizing our knowledge of individual Board of Directors preferences for snow removal events like this, we have made the decision to proceed with service where appropriate. In cases where properties are on the fence and require authorization, we are actively establishing contact with board members to confirm preferences and obtain permission prior to proceeding.
In these circumstances, we elected to conduct snow removal to reduce slip and fall liability, address safety concerns proactively, and clear surfaces ahead of the next round of snowfall. This approach helps prevent layered accumulation and more hazardous conditions.
