I will send an irrigation tech over there tomorrow to look at these boxes and see if we can reduce the water hitting these boxes. Since these boxes are close together and there is grass in between. It may be worth installing a small rock bed around the boxes so we can completely remove the sprinklers from the equation. Is that something the HOA would consider? 	Mark Curtis October 7, 2025 8:47 am 2 months ago Checked zone to assess/adjust sprinkler coverage, hitting of boxes. Grass area in vicinity is narrowed due to boxes…and smaller, MP ROTATOR sprinklers were installed to reduce overspray onto boxes. Wider areas with larger rotors on south and north sides are adjusted to not hit boxes. Boxes are also surrounded by rock to minimize need to water any grass up close (though, as suggested…a bigger footprint would maximize protection). So there is very little to no overspray onto boxes…likely there is only any considerable overspray during wind events, which is typically relatively minimal on overnight water sets. The caveat is…this applies only to the larger green boxes. The small, meter box closer to the fence is right in the middle of the grass, and is basically bombarded by multiple sprinklers (albeit the small streams of the MP ROTATOR NOZZLES). Box has also been compromised/damaged…offering easier breach to insides. So that is my sense of what the culprit might be in this situation. It’s location within current grass configuration makes it difficult to avoid being hit. Perhaps a combination of rock buffer, as well as repair/resealing of box, would reduce the chances of shorting significantly. In lieu of that…and in keeping with the water being shutdown by end of week regardless…I shut off control valve responsible for entire area. Grass is looking good and well watered, so should not need additional watering for remainder of season, until blowout. Off season will provide time to decide how to best mitigate issue… I will leave this “in progress” pending further direction.
